Advertising director -- The News and Tribune (Jeffersonville) seeks an experienced, creative and results-oriented professional to be its next advertising director.

Our advertising director must have a keen understanding of print and digital advertising, as well as audience-based selling. We need a leader who can continue to challenge and motivate our talented sales and marketing team while successfully executing multiplatform strategies for our print, niche and digital products.

Candidates must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, a creative approach to revenue development and a strong focus on customer service. We expect a skilled leader who will effectively manage our experienced and committed group of sales professionals.

The News and Tribune is an award-winning, six-day publication with a circulation of 10,000 daily. In addition to our newspaper, we operate an exceptionally robust website and several community magazines. We are also fully engaged in book publishing.

Online product manager -- The Times of Northwest Indiana has an opportunity for an online product manager.

In this role you would coordinate operations, updates and new products for The Times of Northwest Indiana (Munster) websites including and apps, manage internal/external website customer interactions and vendor relationships and maximize features and functionality of our content management system for mobile and other uses.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Act as champion and expert for CMS development and operations. Plan, design, implement, test and support all web sites and applications.
  • Work with a team to coordinate audience development strategy and measurement of results.
  • Collaborate with newsrooms, advertising, and marketing departments.
  • Stay abreast of changing Internet technology.
  • Provide leadership in development of digital products. Execute plans to achieve strategic outcomes.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain existing daily operations for and apps. Analyze, prioritize and repair any and all site issues quickly and efficiently. Assist end users by addressing their needs.
  • Use broadcast software to create HTML and email templates for advertiser and internal email management, targeted email campaigns and e-newsletters


  • Four years’ experience in managing web-based content, web-based products and CMS.
  • Must have experience implementing Web 2.0 applications and other digital products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, advertising, computer sciences, marketing or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of website organization and content management technology, HTML, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and CSS knowledge required.
  • Knowledge of Blox CMS, email broadcast software such as MarketVolt and What Counts, Google Analytics and Upickem is helpful.
  • Newspaper experience is helpful but not necessary.
  • Must have demonstrated skills in self-initiative and responsiveness to customer needs.
  • Excellent problem solving, prioritization, communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong people skills is essential.
  • Must thrive in collaborative, team environment.
  • Must be creative, visionary, and strategic.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
